ABOUT THE TOPS
- The Hilltoppers enter the final regular season match of 2025 with an 8-4-3 record and a 5-0-2 mark in league play.
- The Hilltoppers are tied for the top of the league standings with 17 points, alongside Liberty. The Tops and Flames are the only two teams in CUSA play without a loss.
- WKU most recently defeated New Mexico State 2-0 in their regular season home finale. Georgia Liapis and Makenna Egan both scored goals in the win.
- Makenna Egan led the offensive effort in the win with one goal on four total shots in 80 minutes of action. Egan's goal Sunday marks the fifth of the season for her and her third in Conference USA play.
- Egan is now second on the team in goals scored and is tied for the sixth leading scorer in CUSA this season.
- Egan's goal was assisted by Lauren Alexander and Alyvia Walls.Â
- For Alexander, it marks her second assist in as many matches as she assisted in the game-tying goal against UTEP in addition to the against New Mexico State.
- Georgia Liapis was credited with scoring the game-winning goal in the 28th minute. Danielle Lewin assisted in the goal, finding Liapis in the box for a header, marking the third assist this season for Lewin.
- Liapis now has eight goals this season. With that, Liapis is tied for second in CUSA in goals scored. She is also third in points with 18.
- Maddie Davis finished with three saves and 90 minutes in goal in her fourth shutout win of the season.
- Davis has the best save percentage in CUSA (.825), tied for the second most shutouts in CUSA, and is second in saves per game (3.92).
- With a win on Sunday, WKU will clinch at least a share of the CUSA Regular Season crown.
SERIES INFORMATION
- Sunday will mark just the fourth meeting between WKU and Jax State. The Tops hold a 1-0-2 lead in the series.
- Last season the two squared off in Bowling Green on October 6 and the match ended in a 0-0 tie.
- The only meeting between the two in Jacksonville resulted in a 1-1 draw back in 2023.
- WKU's win in the series came in the first ever meeting between the two on September 1, 2006 in Murfreesboro, Tenn. The Hilltoppers won in a 3-1 decision.
SCOUTING THE GAMECOCKS
- Jacksonville State enters the matchup at 6-8-3 and holds a 0-6-1 mark in league play.
- The Gamecocks most recently fell to Kennesaw State 2-1 last Saturday. Lara Aitken scored the lone goal for Jax State in the match.
- Amelia Jacobs is the teams' leading scorer with seven goals to date and ranks third on the team in shots. Emma Reeder leads the team in that category with 38.
- Goalkeeper duties for Jax State are split between Ella Holmberg and Camdyn Magrosky. Holmberg has allowed 12 goals with 48 saves in 12 starts, Margrosky has allowed nine with 18 saves in five starts.
- Magrosky played the full sheet in goal in their loss to Kennesaw State. She finished with four saves and two goals against in the match.
