ABOUT THE TOPSÂ
- Friday marks the third meet of the season for the Hilltoppers.
- Last time, WKU competed in the Southern Showcase in Huntsville, Ala. The Hilltoppers set a total of 14 new personal bests at the meet.
- Kinley Kunkel competed for the first time this season, leading the way for the women with a 45th place finish. Setting a new PR in the 5k race with a mark of 17:36.
- Brooke Greenwell, Caterina Rossomanno, and Addie Frisch all followed behind, setting bests in the process, with all managing to finish within the top-115.
- Sofia Witt and Tatum Maschhoff also set new personal records in the women's 5k race.
- In the men's race, eight Hilltoppers set a new PR in the 8k race. Five of which marked their first time running an eight kilometer course at the collegiate level.
- Ryan Hendrix led the pack for the second straight meet, claiming a 90th place finish with a mark of 23:03. Mikie Carnell followed behind, competing in his first meet of the season.
- A trio of veterans followed with all three setting a new best in Hollis Johnson, Jake Younger, and Trevor Hudnall. Johnson and Younger both finished in the top-150.

On the meet Friday head coach Lee Wood said "I feel really good about both teams going into the meet. We are without one of our top five guys and one of our top five ladies but excited to compete as we are coming off of a three-week training block!"
ABOUT THE MEET
- Friday's meet will be held at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course in Terre Haute, Ind. This marks the first of two meets in the Hoosier State for WKU this season.
- The night timeslot marks the first for WKU since they competed at the Foothills Invite on Sept. 2, 2022.
- The meet will be a 6k course for the women's race, the first of the season for WKU, and an 8k course for the men's event, the second consecutive for the men this season.
- The meet location, the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course has hosted numerous championship events and 15 NCAA Championship Meets.
- The course has hosted the 2002 NCAA DI National Championship, and again from 2004-2011 and in 2013, 2014, 2016, and 2019.
- The course is also scheduled to host the 2026 NCAA DI National Championship.
