LIPSCOMB 4, WKU 3
The Bison got moving on the board in the top of the third inning with a combination of a two-run double and two-run single to take a mid-game 4-0 lead.
Taylor Sanders and the Hilltoppers answered back in the bottom half. After Brylee Hage reached on a fielder's choice and TJ Webster drew a walk, Sanders cleared the bases on a deep triple to the right field corner and she advanced to home plate from a Lipscomb fielding error for the Tops to plate three.
The rest of the ballgame stayed quiet as the Hilltopper pitching staff worked their way out of jams and left 14 Bison runners on base. Rylan Smith started in the circle, gave up four runs and five walks with four strikeouts before Maddy Wood came in for relief. Wood gave up four hits and retired three at the plate as Katie Gardner closed the last 1.1 innings.
