MAGNOLIA, Tx. – The second round of the CUSA Tournament wrapped up Tuesday afternoon. The Lady Tops are currently tied with Florida International for fourth place on the board.
Catie Craig, who is still in the top-five for the Lady Tops, was able to score under par during this round. Craig built off of her even-par 72 first round to shave a stroke down and end the day with a 1-under 71. The junior put in four birdies and was able to stay under par on 12 of her 18 holes. She is currently tied for fifth.
Sarah Arnold comes in at 15th for the Red and White. Arnold had a strong showing for the Lady Tops as she was under-par up until her 14th hole where she would go even on back-to-back occasions. The graduate student put in a birdie and ended her day with a 2-over 74.
The biggest jump for WKU came from Averi Cline. Cline climbed up the leaderboard nine spots on her way to an even-72 finish. Cline, who didn't put in a birdie during her first round, put in four during this round, grabbing some great momentum as a result. She will be looking to further ingratiate herself as a key piece during this Lady Tops run as they try to break into the top-three on the leaderboard.
Addie Westbrook is continuing her strong play for the Lady Tops. The senior is tied for 20th and is looking to climb further up the board for the Red and White. Westbrook put in three birdies on her way to a 3-over 75 finish in round two. She has met par 23 times so far, showing her consistency.
Sydney Hackett rounded things out for WKU, scoring a 76 in this round. The Lady Topper sophomore had a strong close to her second round putting in a birdie on her final hole. Hackett is currently tied for 26th overall.
WKU is currently third in the field in pars with 114 and fourth in total birdies with 25.
The final round of the CUSA Championship is set for tomorrow morning with a 7:30 A.M. tee time.
