ABOUT THE TOPS
- WKU is off to a 4-0 start for the ninth time in program history and the first time since 2005-06. The Lady Toppers will be aiming for a 5-0 start which would be the sixth 5-0 start for a Lady Topper team in school history.
- All five of WKU's starters are currently averaging double digit points – Acacia Hayes: 14.5, Destiny Salary: 11.5, Josie Gilvin: 11.3, Zsofia Telegdy: 10.8 and Alexis Mead: 10.5. WKU has had four different leading scorers through four games.
- The Lady Toppers most recently defeated Abilene Christian on the road on Thursday night. WKU led for 38:35 of the game and held off a late run by the Wildcats for the win. Josie Gilvin erupted for a career high 27 points and Zsofia Telegdy pulled down a career high 14 rebounds. Acacia Hayes added 14 points and five steals in the victory and Alexis Mead scored 10 points and dished out eight assists.
- Defense is a hallmark for Greg Collins' teams on The Hill. WKU has finished in the top 30 nationally in steals per game in four of the last five seasons and currently have the 11th best steals per game rate in the country (15.5). Last season the Lady Toppers held opponents to 63.5 points per game, the lowest average of any Collins coached team at WKU. So far this season WKU has not allowed more than 59 points in a game.
- Earlier this season against Indiana State, Hayes had 10 steals, tying the WKU record and tying Conference USA's record against a Division I opponent. Her 4.75 steals per game rate is third in the nation.
- Five Lady Toppers come to Bowling Green internationally, which is the highest number of international athletes WKU women's basketball has had on one team in program history.
- The Lady Toppers were picked to finish fourth in the Conference USA preseason coaches poll, behind Middle Tennessee, Liberty and FIU and above Louisiana Tech in fifth.
SERIES INFORMATION
- Sunday's game will be the third all-time between WKU and North Dakota. The series is tied with each team notching a win previously.
- WKU earned a 71-46 win against the Fighting Hawks in 2009 and North Dakota won the most recent meeting in 2011, 90-72.
ABOUT THE FIGHTING HAWKS
- North Dakota started out the season 2-0 with wins against Eastern Illinois and Dickinson State but have lost two straight against Green Bay and Montana.
- Kiera Pemberton is the team's leading scorer. She's averaging 16.8 points per game. She's also the team's leading rebounder, pulling down 7.8 boards per game.
- The Hawks are averaging 30.8 defensive rebounds per game, ranking them 20th nationally.
