Jax State head coach Ray Harper served as head coach for the Hilltoppers for four seasons from 2012-16, accumulating a 71-48 overall record (.597%). While at WKU, Harper helped lead the Tops to consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances in 2012 and 2013.

2023-24 Conference CampaignÂ
The Hilltoppers are coming off a narrow loss to Sam Houston, 78-74, on the road on Wednesday night. WKU defeated Liberty, 70-68, to open Conference USA play on Jan. 6. The Tops hold an even .500 (1-1) record in conference play and are in third place in the current CUSA standings.

Junior guard Don McHenry currently leads the team in average points (15.1) and assists (40) while charting double-digit point totals in 14 of the team's 16 games. The native of Milwaukee is currently the CUSA's second-leading scorer and charts the conference's fourth-best FG% (min 5 FGM/G average).

The 1980 Hilltopper Baseball team will be honored as a WKU Athletic Hall of Fame Team at Saturday's game. The team finished with a 47-13-1 overall record, while securing OVC regular-season and tournament championships. The Hilltoppers advanced to the NCAA South Region Championship and finished one-win-short of advancing to the College World Series.
