WKU Notes
- WKU scored two goals in the first 11 minutes of the match against Siena on Thursday night, but conceded two second goals to the Saints for a 2-2 tie. Kayla Meyer and Ambere Barnett scored WKU's two goals.
- Erwin had an impressive opening week with two goals and an assist. She is WKU's top points earner with five total. Anna Isger notched three points against Union with a goal and an assist. Meyer also has three points on the season with a goal and two assists. Seven different Lady Toppers have scored a goal through three matches.
- Maddie Davis has been WKU's starting goalkeeper through the first three matches. She is credited with the shutout against Union and has a 1.00 goals against average for the season.
- WKU has 17 returners back from the 2022 season to go along with 12 newcomers that include four transfers and eight true freshmen.
- The Lady Toppers are in the midst of a six-match homestand going through Sept. 3 against Belmont.
Series Notes
- Sunday's match will be the third meeting all-time between WKU and Xavier.
- WKU won the first matchup in the series with a 3-0 victory in 2012 in a tournament played at Ball State.
- The two teams faced off in Cincinnati last season with Xavier claiming a 1-0 win.
Xavier Notes
- The Musketeers started out the season a pair of 2-0 wins against Northeastern and Louisville, but dropped their first match of the season on Thursday night against Illinois, 1-0.
- Xavier has had four different goal scorers through three games. Samantha Wiehe is leading the team in shots taken with six on the season.
- Maria Galley is the starting goalkeeper for the Musketeers. She has a 0.33 goals against average for the season and a 88.9 save percentage.
