FLORENCE, Ala. — WKU Tennis continues the 2023 season with a road matchup against the Northern Alabama Lions in Florence, Ala. on Tuesday, March 21. Doubles play will begin at 2 p.m. CT.
Â
"North Alabama is a very improved team this year," said head coach Greg Davis. "In my time at WKU I cannot recall an easy match. It is always 4-3 or 5-2 either for them or for us. They are an extremely difficult team to play at their place, so we are expecting another barn burner."
Â
Last weekend, the Lady Toppers swept a doubleheader on Friday, March 17 against Tennessee State and Southern Indiana, without dropping a set in either match. With the sweeps, WKU improves to 12-7 on the year while holding a 1-1 record in C-USA.
Â
WKU is 8-8 all-time against Northern Alabama, with the first match being played in 2005. The Lady Toppers won the last two meetings, 5-2, in both dual matches. Â
Â
Northern Alabama is 6-9 in 2023 thus far and is coming off a 6-1 Loss against Jacksonville State.
