SAN ANTONIO, Texas. — Fresh off a notable weekend of outstanding accomplishments, with Samantha Martinez breaking the doubles wins program record (38) and head coach Greg Davis collecting his 300th career win, WKU Tennis continues the 2023 season this Sunday, March 12 and Monday, March 13 with road C-USA matches against North Texas and UTSA.

"I am really blessed to have coached some amazing individuals that has helped tremendously in reaching 300 wins," said Davis. "The current team has been a very enjoyable group to work with."

The Lady Toppers head to Texas hoping to carry momentum from last weekend, when they went 2-0 against Saint Louis and SIU-Edwardsville. They will begin play at 2 p.m. CT on Sunday against North Texas and 1 p.m. CT on Sunday against UTSA, with both matches being played in San Antonio, Texas.

"Two of the best teams in C-USA this weekend," said Davis. "We really enjoy the challenge of going on the road and competing against great teams and coaches in this conference."

WKU is 0-2 all-time against North Texas, meeting for the first-time in 2003 at the Sun Belt Tournament in Mobile, Ala. The last time the sides met was in 2019 when the Lady Toppers traveled to Denton, Texas and lost, 0-7.

North Texas had a dual match record of 6-13 in 2021, losing in the first round of the C-USA Tournament to Florida Atlantic, 4-1. In 2022, the Mean Green held a record of 10-12, losing in the second round of the C-USA Tournament to FIU, 4-0.

In 2023, North Texas is 9-5 and coming off back-to-back losses to No. 45 FIU and Tulane. Prior to the Tulane loss, the Mean Green were ranked in the ITA top 75 at No. 69.

The Lady Toppers have never faced off against UTSA in program history, marking the first meeting between the conference opponents.

The Roadrunners held a 9-11 record in 2021, losing in the first round of the C-USA Tournament to UAB, 4-0. In 2022, UTSA was 4-17 and lost to Rice in the first round of the C-USA Tournament, 4-0, to Rice.

The Roadrunners are 8-7 in 2023 and are coming off three straight losses to UIW, Rice, and UT Arlington.
