ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. – Hilltopper Golf senior captain Luke Fuller is in contention for an individual medalist title at the Sea Palms Invitational as he posted a 4-under 67 for the second consecutive round. He is tied for fourth overall, just two shots back from a duo in first.
Fuller carded birdies on his final two holes to reach the 4-under score at the par-71, 6,664-yard Sea Palms Course. His 36-hole total of 134 ties the program record, dating back to at least 1981-82.
The Hilltoppers as a team are in sixth overall after putting up a 3-over 287 on Friday.
Redshirt Nic Hofman posted a 2-over 73 in the second round and is tied for 27th. Fifth-year senior Landon Carner also had a 2-over 73, counting as the third score for WKU.
The final score for the Hilltoppers came from sophomore Riley Grindstaff who shot 3-over 74. Both Grindstaff and Carner are tied for 47th.
Junior Connery Meyer turned in a 7-over 78 and is tied for 74th in the 120-man field.
Hilltopper Golf junior Aaron Pha is competing as an individual and fired a 2-under 69 in the second round. He climbed 21 spots on the leaderboard and is tied for 21st.
WKU will complete the Sea Palms Invitational on Saturday with one final round.
