NASHVILLE, Tenn. — WKU Tennis continues the 2023 season this weekend with a road matchup against the Belmont Bruins in Nashville, Tenn. on Sunday, February 5. Doubles play at the Ensworth Tennis Center will begin at 11 a.m. CT.

"Belmont up next this Sunday," head coach Greg Davis said. "They are always tough, especially in Nashville. We know we are going to have our hands full walking in."

Last weekend, the Lady Toppers hosted a doubleheader on Sunday, January 29 against Western Carolina and Western Illinois. WKU moves to 4-3 after splitting the two matches, falling to the Catamounts, 4-3, and sweeping the Fighting Leathernecks, 7-0.Â

WKU is 11–17 all-time against Belmont, playing the Bruins for the first time in 1998. The Lady Toppers won four of the first five meetings between the two programs. They met last season in Bowling Green, where the Lady Toppers took the win, 6-1.

Belmont has started the 2023 campaign 2-1, coming off a win against Central Arkansas in Nashville, 5-1. The lone loss came against Austin Peay in Clarksville by a score of 5-2. They have an upcoming home match today, February 4 against ETSU at 4 p.m. CT.
