Laval, Quebec, Canada – WKU men's basketball secured a 72-65 victory over Bowling Green on Friday night to open Northern Classic tournament competition at Place Bell Arena in Laval, Quebec. Don McHenry led the team in scoring with 17 points off 3-of-6 shooting from the field and a 10-of-12 mark on free throws.
McHenry was among four Hilltoppers to chart double-digit point totals in the win against the Falcons on Friday. Rodney Howard finished the evening with 16 points and 6 rebounds, while Dontaie Allen and Tyrone Marshall Jr. each totaled 10 points.
Marshall Jr. led the team in steals with 4, while Brandon Newman charted a team high of 8 rebounds with 5 points and a pair of steals.
In a homecoming for the Quebec native, junior Enoch Kalambay finished the outing with 9 points, 7 rebounds and a pair of assists.
With a fourth consecutive double-digit point performance for McHenry, the Milwaukee native has now finished as the team's scoring leader in three of the Tops' five contests on the year. McHenry has also notched 24-of-28 free throws in 2023-24 for a .857% mark.
The Tops improve to 4-1 on the season with the win over the Falcons.
WKU returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 25 for the second day of tournament play at the Northern Classic facing Canisius. Tipoff from Place Bell Arena in Laval, Quebec is slated for 1 p.m. CT with live streaming available on Primoprod.
