BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — WKU men's basketball will travel to face Murray State on Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. CT at CFSB Center in Murray, Ky. The Hilltoppers enter the game with a 1-1 record after a win against Kentucky Wesleyan and a tightly contested loss at Wichita State in the opening week of the season.

The 2023-24 CampaignÂ
The Hilltoppers opened the 2023-24 season with a 90-64 win over Kentucky Wesleyan on Monday, Nov. 6 in E.A. Diddle Arena. Purdue transfer Brandon Newman led the team in scoring with 14 points to go with five rebounds and a block, while College of Charleston transfer Babacar Faye recorded a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.
The Hilltoppers opened road play on Thursday, Nov. 9 with a matchup against Wichita State. Despite a strong team effort that saw WKU leading at the half, the Tops struggled to find their stroke from the field and from 3-point range and fell 71-61 facing the Shockers. With a 0-21 mark for 3-point attempts, a 1,335 game streak that saw the Hilltoppers connect from range in every outing came to an end.
Tyrone Marshall Jr. tied for a team high in rebounds with eight, while totaling seven points, three steals, two blocks and one assist. Don McHenry led the team in scoring with 12 points while tallying five rebounds, and Rodney Howard finished second in scoring with 11 points to pair with seven rebounds.

WKU and Murray State have matched up 89 times since the 1949-50 season, with the Hilltoppers leading the series with a 54-35 win-loss record. WKU previously faced the Racers on Dec. 6, 2014 and fell short 93-81.
