GREENVILLE, S.C. – Lady Topper Golf found its groove on Saturday as it used moving day at the Lady Paladin Invitational to improve its scores. WKU moved up two spots as a team into 11th after improving by 10 shots and shooting 7-over 295.
Freshman Sydney Hackett made major moves up the leaderboard, climbing 26 spots into t-13th. She fired her third round in the 60's for the year at 3-under 69 on Saturday. She logged five birdies in total with the second-lowest round of the day by any individual. Hackett is one shot out of the top 10 and two shots out of the top five.
The second-lowest score for WKU came from sophomore Catie Craig. She shaved four shots off her Friday score and carded a 2-over 74 at the par-72, 6,256-yard Furman University Golf Course. She is tied for 45th overall.
Junior Rachel Rich turned in a 3-over 75 and is tied for 27th, just two shots back from a top-20 finish.
WKU's scorecard was finished out by senior Sarah Arnold who shot a 5-over 77 for the second day in a row. Freshman Averi Cline turned in another 6-over 78 on Saturday. Arnold is tied for 62nd while Cline is tied for 72nd.
The final round will be a shotgun start on Sunday at 8 a.m. CT.
