Friday's contest will be available on CUSA.tv, Conference USA's home for live events, for fans who elect to subscribe. And Saturday's match will be available on ESPN+.
As is the case for every Hilltopper match this season, all the action will also be available on the radio with Brad Klein on the play-by-play call. Friday evening's match-up at UAB and Saturday's matinee in Murfreesboro will be broadcast on 98.3 The Edge.
WKU Volleyball's 44-match conference winning streak is the longest of the sort in NCAA Division I. Only Louisville (29), Dayton (29), and BYU (27) are the only other programs with at least a 20-match conference winning streak.
Setter Callie Bauer is currently fifth in the nation for total assists on the season (512). She averages 10.67 assists a set which puts her at 15th in the country. The WKU program is also seventh in the NCAA in offense, hitting .300 as a team.
The Tops have claimed the No. 24 spot in this week's AVCA rankings. They swept the Holiday Inn - University Plaza Invitational, garnering head coach Travis Hudson's 700th career win against Northern Kentucky. This past week, WKU swept Tennessee in Knoxville, earning the program's first win over the SEC squad, and went 2-1 over their final tournament of the season.
UAB is coming off of a weekend where it split in Tallahassee, falling short to Florida State, 0-3, on Saturday, while picking up a 3-0 win against Florida A&M on Sunday. MTSU went 2-1 over their last tournament of the season in Queens, earning wins over Boston College and Columbia, before dropping to host St. John's. The Blue Raiders also notched another W off their midweek over Alabama A&M on Wednesday.
UAB is off to a 5-7 start to the 2022 campaign. In the 2021 season, the Hilltoppers and Blazers squared off in the first round of the C-USA Tournament in Norfolk, Va. WKU took the match in a 3-0 sweep.
The Blue Raiders met the Tops on The Hill in October of last season, falling in a sweep in part to a Lauren Matthews' double-double. MTSU is currently 11-3 on the season.
TOP STORYLINES
- The Tops have won 44-straight regular season Conference USA contests with their last loss dating back to October of 2018 – the longest streak across all of Division I volleyball.
- WKU have held teams to an average of just .165 hitting clip. UAB is averaging a hitting clip of .209 so far this season, while Middle Tennessee is at .260.
- WKU has been predicted to win the conference title in the Conference USA Preseason Poll voted by the league's coaches. Paige Briggs, Katie Isenbarger, and Lauren Matthews were all selected to the Preseason All-Conference Team. Matthews was tabbed Preseason Player of the Year. After meeting in last year's tournament championship, Rice was predicted to finish second.
- Paige Briggs leads the team in kills this season with 189. She marked her 1,000 career kill against Louisville on Aug 31.
- The Friday and Saturdays matches will be the fourth and fifth away matches of the season for the Tops, in which they are 3-0.
- WKU Volleyball is more accessible than ever with radio broadcasts for every match. The Tops are 1 of just 10 Division I Volleyball programs that currently have live radio for home and away matches.
