BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Baseball fell to (RV) Old Dominion, 5-4, in its series finale on Saturday afternoon at Nick Denes Field.
The contest marked the end of the Hilltoppers' season, with the team holding their Senior Day ceremony for the last game of the year.
"I'm just proud of these guys," said head coach John Pawlowski. "It's always hard when the final out is made on the season, but I'm proud of these guys and the way they went about their business. When it ends it's really hard, they're going through a lot of emotions right now, but they certainly played hard and they pitched hard and they did what we wanted them to do. They gave us a great effort today."
Sean Bergeron earned the starting nod on the mound for the Hilltoppers, allowing six hits and five runs while recording seven strikeouts in 6.0 frames. WKU utilized Hunter Crosby, Logan Bowen and Jake Kates from there, with the trio combining to toss 3.0 innings of scoreless action while striking out two batters.
At the plate, the Hilltoppers racked up nine hits, with four players producing multi-hit performances. Justin Carlin, Hunter Evans, Tristin Garcia and Jackson Gray all collected two hits apiece in the contest, with Carlin and Evans also adding home runs in the matchup.
