DALLAS – WKU Track & Field senior hurdler Audrey Griffin was honored as WKU's Winter Spirit of Service recipient, Conference USA announced Wednesday. The award is designed to recognize the community service efforts of student-athletes at each member institution in each season.
Griffin has logged over 100 community service hours this school year across multiple organizations including Curbside Ministries, Bag of Blessings, Special Olympics, Read Across America and other opportunities WKU's Student-Athlete Development department has implemented.
The Indiana native created 'next step' programming for high schoolers within the Curbside Ministry, an organization that serves lower-income, refugee communities within Warren County. Griffin's program included workshops on resume building, personal growth, professionalism and more career-centric information.
Griffin is a three-time team captain for the WKU Track & Field program. She is a two-year SAAC representative, a seven-time WKU President's List honoree and is currently nominated for the Outstanding Senior in Marketing award.
The senior boasts a 3.88 GPA and will graduate in May with a bachelor's degree in Strategic Marketing with minors in Entrepreneurship and Organizational Leadership along with a certificate in Advanced Professionalism.
