WKU Tennis to Wrap Up Regular Season at Marshall

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — WKU Tennis will play its final regular season match of the 2022 season this weekend on Saturday, April 16 at Marshall.

Saturday's match will begin at 1 p.m. and will be played at the Brian David Fox Tennis Center, marking the first time WKU will visit Huntington in program history.

Last weekend, the Lady Toppers played their final two home matches of the season.

On Saturday, WKU faced Middle Tennessee for its second Conference USA match of the season. The Tops claimed the win, 4-3, in a hard-fought match to get their first Conference win.

WKU matched up against Saint Louis on Sunday for Senior Day. The Lady Toppers rolled, taking the win, 6-1, over the Billikens. These two wins brought WKU to 17-8 on the season overall, the second best record in the history of the program and the most wins in a season since 1985.

The Lady Toppers are 1-1 all-time against Marshall, playing for the first time in 2017.

Both matchups have been in the Conference USA Tournament with WKU taking the first match in Denton, Texas, 4-3. The Thundering Herd took the win in the most recent match between the sides, beating the Lady Toppers last season in post-season play, 4-0, in the first round of the Conference USA Tournament.

Marshall comes into this matchup with a 11-11 overall record. They are coming off a 6-1 loss on the road against No. 59 VCU. Last season, Middle Tennessee finished with a record of 7-8, losing in the second round of the Conference USA Tournament to FIU, 4-0.

This will be just the third Conference USA match of the season for the Lady Toppers and the fifth for the Thundering Herd.
