BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — WKU Tennis continues the 2022 season this Saturday, March 19 at home against Eastern Illinois.
The match will be played at the WKU Tennis Complex and will begin at 1 p.m.
This week, the Lady Toppers had a three-match road trip in the state of Alabama. On Monday, March 14, they faced off against UAB for their first conference match of the season, losing 6-1 to the Blazers in Birmingham.
Following the loss on Monday, WKU bounced back. On Wednesday, the Lady Toppers swept Alabama State 4-0 in Montgomery. They continued momentum into Thursday's match, winning 6-1 at Alabama A&M in Huntsville. They finished the road trip 2-1 and improve to 12-6 on the campaign.
WKU is 1-0 all-time against Eastern Illinois, playing for the only time in 1986. The Lady Toppers took that match by a 7-2 decision in Murray. This will be the first time the Panthers will visit The Hill in program history.
Eastern Illinois comes into the match with a record of 2-11. They are coming off a 7-0 win last Saturday, March 12 against Depauw.
The Panthers finished 4-13 in the 2021 season and 5-8 in the 2020 season that was shortened due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
