"This was the exact match everybody thought it was going to be. Every time we [WKU and Rice] play each other, it comes down to a play here or there", noted head coach Travis Hudson. "I don't need to win on the scoreboard to know what kind of kids I got. I have no fault to anyone in our locker room today, they played their guts out. I thought we did the things we needed to do to win – I'm just incredibly proud of the hunger our kids played with."
