BOWLING GREEN, Ky. - No. 25 WKU Volleyball program is set to play host to the UTSA Roadrunners for the first time since 2019, as the Roadrunners are coming to town Sunday, October 9 in Diddle Arena. First serve is set for noon CT.Â
The match will be streamed for free on Facebook Live via the Hilltopper Sports Satellite Network (HSSN) Facebook page with Brad Klein on the call.
As is the case for every Hilltopper match this season, all the action will also be available on the radio with Brad Klein on the play-by-play call. The Sunday afternoon contest with be on ESPN Radio 102.7.
WKU Volleyball's 48-match conference winning streak is the longest of the sort in NCAA Division I. Only Louisville (33) and BYU (31) are the only other programs with at least a 20-match conference winning streak.
The Tops have claimed the No. 25 spot in this week's AVCA rankings. Staying at home inside Diddle Arena, WKU gained their 10th and 11th sweeps of the season over FIU and Charlotte, notching a team .322 hitting clip over Friday and Sunday. Overall the Hilltoppers own a .309 offensive average, which is fourth in the nation.
Standing at a 6-9 campaign so far in the season, UTSA is settled down with a 1-3 conference record, only overcoming FAU on September 30 in San Antonio. Only having last seen each other in 2019 due to the fragmented pandemic schedule the last few seasons, the reunion between the Hilltoppers and Roadrunners on The Hill resulted in a 3-0 sweep by the Tops. UTSA will be on a Midwest road trip, playing Middle Tennessee in Murfreesboro on Friday.

Flexible season ticket packages are on sale now and include 14 vouchers that fans can use at any regular-season home match in whatever fashion they choose. Fans can opt for the traditional use of one ticket for all 14 home matches or bring a group to a few matches. Purchasing single match tickets in advance online are $4 for adults, $3 for youth, while at the door on game day, adults are $6 and youth are $3.
TOP STORYLINES
- Only the ninth meeting between the two teams, the two first competed against one another dating back to 2014 when WKU just joined the C-USA.Â
- The Tops have won 48Â straight regular season Conference USA matches with their last loss dating back to October of 2018.
- WKU has held teams to an average of just .170 hitting clip. UTSA is hitting at a mere .207 on the year.
- WKU has been predicted to win the conference title in the Conference USA Preseason Poll voted by the league's coaches. Paige Briggs, Katie Isenbarger, and Lauren Matthews were all selected to the Preseason All-Conference Team. Matthews was tabbed Preseason Player of the Year. After meeting in last year's tournament championship, Rice was predicted to finish second.
- Averaging 3.88 kills per set, Paige Briggs leads the team in kills with 273. Lauren Matthews follows suit with 258, Matthews is currently fourth in all-time kills by a Hilltopper with 1,633.
- Sunday's match will be the 10th home match of the season for the Tops, in which they are 7-2.
- WKU Volleyball is more accessible than ever with radio broadcasts for every match. The Tops are 1 of just 10 Division I Volleyball programs that currently have live radio for home and away matches.
