BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – In their home tournament, the Lady Toppers are being led by fifth-year senior Kenlie Barrett through the first round of the Olde Stone Intercollegiate.
The second round of the tournament was suspended due to darkness and will be completed along with the third round on Tuesday.
Barrett shot an even-par 72 in the first round to land in the top three individuals. She was just two shots back from the lead after the opening 18 holes.
Senior Sarah Arnold carded a 3-over 75 in the first round and was tied for 18th. Following her in the scoring for WKU was freshman Sydney Hackett. She posted an opening 5-over 77 at the par-72, 6,212-yard Club at Olde Stone.
The Lady Toppers also counted a 10-over 82 from Rachel Rich. The team was officially tied for eighth through the first round of the Intercollegiate.
With the entire squad competing, WKU had four individuals in addition to their five-woman lineup. Junior Addie Westbrook shot 6-over 78 to tie for 40th while sophomores Faith Martin and Catie Craig both carded 8-over 80's.
