KENNESAW, Ga. – WKU Men's Golf sits in third as a team at the Pinetree Intercollegiate hosted by Kennesaw State. The Hilltoppers shot 7-over 295 followed by a 1-over 289 for Monday's first two rounds to move up three spots throughout the day.
Leading the Tops to the top half of the leaderboard was fifth-year senior Landon Carner. He improved by six strokes from round one to round two, shooting 3-over 75 followed by a 3-under 69 at the par-72, 7,108-yard Pinetree Country Club.
Carner is currently tied for seventh at even-par and is just two shots back from a top-five finish.
Following Carner is the consistent sophomore of Riley Grindstaff. He shot even-par 72 and 1-over 73 on the day to tie for ninth.
Like his teammate, redshirt sophomore Nic Hofman improved by six shots from the first to second rounds, carding a 4-over 76 then a 2-under 70. He is tied for 14th on the individual leaderboard, only one stroke back from the top 10.
Senior Luke Fuller counted both scores for the Hilltoppers with an even-par 72 and a 5-over 77. Junior Connery Meyer shot 4-over 76 and 9-over 81 on Monday.
WKU will tee off for the final round of the Pinetree Intercollegiate at 8:50 a.m. CT on Tuesday morning.
