The matches will be available on CUSA.tv, Conference USA's home for live events, for fans who elect to subscribe.
As is the case for every Hilltopper match this season, all the action will also be available on the radio with Brett Williams on the play-by-play call. Both matches from Miami will be available on ESPN Radio 102.7.
WEEKEND SCHEDULE
Friday – 12 p.m. CT at FIU | Miami, Fla.
Saturday – 11 a.m. CT at FIU | Miami, Fla.
The Tops are 38-8 all-time against the Panthers, including a 16-match winning streak which began in 2011. FIU is coming off of a weekend tournament where the Panthers won one of their two outings, beating Seton Hall, 3-0 while falling to North Florida, 1-3.
Last season, FIU finished with a 3-10 record while going 3-9 in conference play. In last year's abbreviated season, the Hilltoppers and Panthers squared off in Bowling Green. WKU took both matches, sweeping both.
TOP STORYLINES
- These will be the 47th and 48th all-time meetings between WKU and FIU; a series that WKU leads 38-8.
- WKU ranks No. 21 in the latest AVCA Coaches Poll, up one spot from last week's mark. This follows two weeks at the highest ranking in program history (15) to open the season. The Hilltoppers have now been ranked in 10 of the last 11 seasons and received votes for 12-straight campaigns.
- WKU Volleyball is more accessible than ever with radio broadcasts for every match. The Tops are 1 of just 10 Division I Volleyball programs that currently have live radio for home and away matches.
- WKU has held opponents to an average hitting clip of just .135 this season, which ranks 15th across the NCAA currently. FIU enters the weekend series with a hitting clip of .172 so far this season.
- This Hilltoppers have won 18 straight sets and have only dropped 5 sets all season, with three coming against Ole Miss: the Tops' lone loss in 2021.
- WKU has been predicted to win the East Division in the Conference USA Preseason Poll voted by the league's coaches. Paige Briggs, Nadia Dieudonne, and Lauren Matthews were all selected to the Preseason All-Conference Team. After meeting in last year's tournament championship Rice was predicted to win the West Division again this season.
- Lauren Matthews leads the team in kills this season with 187. Matthews is currently 14th in all time kills by a Hilltopper with 1,161.
- Friday and Saturdays matches will be the 7th and 8th matches away from home for the season for WKU, in which the team owns a 6-0 record.
- The Tops have won 35-straight regular season Conference USA contests with their last loss dating back to October of 2018 – the longest streak across all of Division I volleyball.
- The Hilltoppers also own the longest road winning streak in all of NCAA Volleyball with 16-straight wins.
