GREENVILLE, S.C. – As a team, WKU Women's Golf moved up two spots on the leaderboard after improving by four strokes and shooting 6-over 294 on the second day of the Lady Paladin Invitational. The Lady Toppers are now in sixth, just five shots back from a top-five finish with 18 holes to play.
Sophomore Rachel Rich had the low score of the day for the Lady Tops with an even-par 72 at the 6,234-yard Furman University Golf Course. She improved by three strokes from her first-round score, moving up eight spots to tie for 17th. Rich turned in two birdies and seven pars for her back-nine score of 2-under.
Also tied for 17th is senior Kenlie Barrett. The Woodlands, Texas, native carded a 2-over 74 on Saturday and sits at 3-over 147 for the tournament thus far. Both Barrett and Rich are three shots outside a top-10 finish.
Fifth-year senior Olivia Reed logged a 1-over 73 on the day to move up seven spots. She is currently tied for 31st. Freshman Catie Craig rounded out scoring for the Lady Toppers with a 3-over 75. She is now sitting t-23rd on the leaderboard, two strokes back from the top 15.
Junior Sarah Arnold and freshman Faith Martin, who is competing as an individual, each carded 10-over 82's for Saturday's second round.
WKU will close out its time at the Lady Paladin Invitational with a shotgun format for the final round beginning at 8 a.m. CT on Sunday morning.
