JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - WKU Track & Field finished its season this week at the NCAA Track & Field Championship East Preliminaries. Marlowe Mosley competed on Wednesday night while Alexis Williams wrapped up action on Thursday evening.
Mosley rarely missed advancing to the quarterfinals of the men's 400 race on Wednesday evening after finishing 27th. The 46.83 time was just 0.12 seconds, three spots, off qualifying for the Friday race.
The Belleville, Ill., native went on to race in the 200 just an hour and a half later and finished 44th with a time of 21.58.
Williams competed on Thursday evening in the 200 and placed 33rd with a time of 23.77 (23.768). She was nine spots away from qualifying for the quarterfinals, translating to a mere 0.28 second outside the top 24.
The duo represented WKU at the NCAA East Regionals for the first time under Director of Track & Field/Cross Country Brent Chumbley. They were also the first pair of sprinters assistant coach Tosha Ansley has guided to the prelims in her time at WKU.
