Joiner Leads WKU; Second Round Suspended at First Coast Classic

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Lady Topper Golf finished its first round at the First Coast Classic and was midway through its second before play was suspended for weather at 3:30 p.m. CT. Through the first round, WKU was tied for sixth as a team at 8-over 295.

On Tuesday, the Lady Toppers will resume play in the second round at 6:45 a.m. CT, as the team is between holes 8 and 12. The field will play continuously into the third and final round.

Graduate senior Mary Joiner led the Red and White throughout the day. After bogeying her first hole of the spring season, she went on to card four birdies in her first round to finish at 3-under 69. Through the first 18 holes, the Franklin, Ky., native is tied for first.

Senior Megan Clarke carded a 1-over 73 in the first 18 holes of competition, recording three birdies along the way. She is tied for 16th after the first round. Senior Olivia Reed logged the team's third score of the day, shooting 4-over 76.

Sophomore Sarah Arnold finished WKU's team scoring in the first round with a 5-over 77. The Illinois native is tied for 40^th. Freshman Rachel Rich turned in a 7-over 79 for the first 18 holes and is tied for 55th.

WKU also had two Lady Toppers competing as individuals. Redshirt senior Teri Doss shot 8-over 80 while freshman Addie Westbrook shot 10-over 82.
