MOBILE, Ala. – Senior co-captain Caleb O'Toole led Hilltopper Golf on the second day of the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate. The Alabama native shot under par as WKU moved into 10th as a team with 18 holes to play.
After carding eight pars and one bogey on his front nine, O'Toole went on to log three birdies on the back to fire 2-under 70. The senior moved from t-52nd to t-33rd, just one shot off a top-25 finish. He tied his season low for an 18-hole score, 70, which he has shot two other times in the 2020-21 season.
Sophomore Luke Fuller improved his score from the first round by two strokes to shoot 1-over 73 in Monday's round at the par-72, 7,212-yard Magnolia Grove Crossings Course. He is currently tied for 47th along with redshirt senior Tom Bevington who shot 3-over 75 in the second round.
WKU finished out scoring with graduate senior Christian Tooley. The Roundhill, Ky., native shot 4-over 76 to make the Hilltoppers' total 6-over 294 on the day. Through 36 holes, the Red and White is 13-over as a team.
Freshman Connery Meyer ended the lineup with an 8-over 80 while Aaron Pha, competing as an individual, shot 7-over 79.
The Hilltoppers will tee off for their final round of the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate on Tuesday morning.
