- WKU is coming of a series split with Florida Atlantic, claiming the win in the first game 71-64 but falling in the second game 75-70
- After a seven game homestand, the Lady Toppers go on the road for the first time since Jan. 14 at Marshall. WKU ends the season with six of their last eight games of the regular season on the road (at Rice, at FIU and at Old Dominion)
- In last weekend's series, WKU featured four Lady Toppers in double figure points in both games. In the first game, the Lady Toppers were led by Myriah Haywood (17 points), Raneem Elgedawy (16 points), Ally Collett (14 points) and Meral Abdelgawad (11 points). Haywood, Elgedawy and Abdelgawad all had double-doubles in the game
- Elgedawy is WKU's leading scorer, putting up 21.5 points per game. She also leads on the boards, getting 11.4 rebounds a game
- Fatou Pouye is the second leading scorer, scoring 10.4 points per game. Abdelgawad and Hope Sivori are each averaging 9.6 points per game
- Sivori is the team's leading assist earner, averaging 3.8 dimes per game. That average ranks as the fifth best by a WKU freshman since 1977
Series Notes
- WKU and Rice have played only seven times in series history, tying the Owls with UTEP and UTSA as WKU's least played Conference USA opponent
- The Lady Toppers are 3-4 against Rice all-time and have lost four straight in the series
- WKU has traveled to Rice in four of the last five seasons. The Lady Toppers are 2-2 in Houston against the Owls
- Last season the two teams squared off on Jan. 4 in the second C-USA game of the season. The game featured nine ties and eight lead changes, but Rice outscored WKU by 11 in the fourth quarter to earn a 73-65 win

- Rice is coming off back-to-back C-USA titles and was picked second in the league in the preseason poll
- The Owls are the only team still left undefeated in league play with a 6-0 record, leading the West division. Those six games are the fewest conference games of any C-USA team. The Owls haven't played since Jan. 16 due to COVID-19 protocols within the Rice program
- Rice is the second best 3-point shooting team in the country, shooting 40.7 from beyond the arc as a team They also have the fifth best field goal percentage in the nation, making 48.9 percent from the floor
- Nancy Mulkey was the preseason Co-Player of the Year pick from the league. Mulkey is the nation's fifth leading shot blocker, averaging 3.09 blocks per game. She's the team leading scorer, averaging 16.2 points per game along with 7.8 rebounds
