BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Cross Country is set to enter the postseason as they travel to Concord, N.C. to compete in the Conference USA Championships on Saturday, Oct. 30.
The meet will be hosted by Charlotte and held at Frank Liske Park.
The men's squad will open the meet with an 8k beginning at 8:00 a.m. CT, followed by the women's 6k at 9:00 a.m. CT.
The men will face off against 10 other C-USA schools, five of whom are ranked within their respective regions in North Texas (2nd – South Central), Charlotte (6th – Southeast), Middle Tennessee (6th – South), Rice (6th – South Central) and UTEP (11th – Mountain).
The women will compete against 12 conference foes, including four regionally ranked programs in Rice (5th – South Central), Middle Tennessee (9th – South), Charlotte (12th – Southeast) and Southern Miss (15th – South).
At last year's C-USA Championships, the men's squad finished sixth with an average time of 25:52 in the 8k, while the women's team placed 11th with an average mark of 23:55 in the 6k.
Following the C-USA Championships, the Hilltoppers' next meet will be on Friday, Nov. 12 when they head to Louisville, Ky., to compete in the NCAA Southeast Regional.
