BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – No. 18 WKU Volleyball will be back home at Diddle Arena for the final time this season against Conference USA opponent Old Dominion on Thursday and Friday. WKU is off to a 20-1 start to the season and has swept the last 12 out of 13 matches played. The Tops are 2-0 all-time against the Monarchs with two sweeps.
Â
Both matches will be streamed for free on Facebook Live via the Hilltopper Sports Satellite Network (HSSN) Facebook page with Brett Williams on the call. The matches will also be available on CUSA.tv, Conference USA's home for live events, for fans who elect to subscribe.
Â
As is the case for every Hilltopper match this season, all the action will also be available on the radio with Brett Williams on the play-by-play call. Catch Thursday night's action on ESPN Radio 102.7 while Friday's match will be available on The Edge 98.3 FM.
Â
Friday night's senior recognition will take place before the match at approximately 5:50 p.m. Six Hilltoppers will be recognized, including: Taylor Bebout, Nadia Dieudonne, Ashley Hood, Kayland Jackson, Logan Kael and Hallie Shelton.
Â
The Hilltoppers enter their final home weekend with a 13-match win streak in tow. WKU Volleyball's 41-match conference winning streak is the longest of the sort in NCAA Division I. Texas (30), High Point (26), Dayton (22), and now Louisville (20) are the only other programs with at least a 20-match conference winning streak. The Hilltoppers also own the longest road winning streak in all of NCAA Volleyball with 21-straight wins.
Â
Last weekend in Boca Raton, Fla., the Hilltoppers became the first team in NCAA Volleyball to reach the 20-win mark on the campaign, returning to The Hill with a 20-1 record. Travis Hudson has now led WKU to 22-consecutive 20-win seasons, the second-longest active streak in the nation.
Â
Middle hitter, Lauren Matthews currently ranks third in the nation in hitting percentage, hitting at a .480 clip, while the team ranks second in the nation for hitting percentage (.337), third in opponent hitting percentage (.123), and third in winning percentage (.952).Â
Â
The Tops have claimed the No. 18 spot in this week's AVCA rankings. They visited Middle Tennessee two weekends ago, sweeping the series. This past weekend, WKU traveled to Boca Raton, Florida where they beat Florida Atlantic in back-to-back matches. Old Dominion is coming off of a weekend where they lost both matches against FIU, falling to the Panthers 2-3 on Friday while falling short 0-3 on Saturday.
Â
Old Dominion is off to a 11-11 start to the 2021 campaign and is 3-5 in C-USA play. In last year's abbreviated season, the Hilltoppers and the Monarchs squared off in Norfolk, Virginia. WKU took both matches, earning two sweeps.Â
