BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — WKU women's basketball's Dee Givens has been voted on to the Conference USA All-Academic Team for the 2019-20 season. She joins four other student-athletes from the 14-team league.
The redshirt senior graduated with undergraduate degree early and has already earned her Master's degree in Recreation and Sports Administration. Givens maintained a 4.0 GPA through graduate school.
The Lexington, Kentucky native has had an impressive career with the Lady Toppers. She currently ranks 14th all-time on WKU's career scoring list with 1,584 points. She's made the third most career 3-pointers (224) by any Lady Topper and has the program's fourth highest steals total with 231 in her career. Givens has played in 137 games in the WKU uniform, tied for the most all-time by any WKU player.
This season, Givens is averaging 16.2 points per game. That mark is the fifth highest in C-USA. She leads the league in steals with 68 on the year.
Givens and the Lady Toppers will close out the regular season on Saturday against Louisiana Tech. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. in E.A. Diddle Arena. WKU will be honoring four seniors, including Givens, in a ceremony following the game for Senior Day.
