BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – With its home-opener just around the corner, WKU Softball has announced its 2020 promotions schedule for the 27 regular-season home games this season at the WKU Softball Complex. The slate features Friday freebies, Sunday Funday, midweek concession deals and more.
For the Hilltoppers' home-opening doubleheader on Friday, Feb. 21, there will be 2020 schedule magnets for the first 250 fans. Two days later, WKU Softball will conclude its first of back-to-back weekend tournaments as the first Faith & Family Day takes place along with the new Sunday Funday concession stand deal.
Anytime the Hilltoppers host a game on a Sunday, fans can bring a church bulletin and receive one free admission per flier. The Sunday Funday concession deal features a $5 kid's meal. Additionally, admission will be free for any child 12 years old or younger for all Sunday contests at the WKU Softball Complex. The squad currently has six Sunday games on the slate.
At the Hilltopper Classic from Feb. 28 – March 1, all WKU Softball campers will receive free admission throughout the tournament. Friday, Feb. 28 will be the WKU Softball Camper Reunion Day along with another Friday freebies giveaway.
WKU's first of five Wednesday midweek games will take place on March 4 when Belmont comes to town. The concession stand will offer a $2 popcorn and $2 hot dog special on all regular-season midweek contests.
March 4 will also be a Green Out in the WKU Softball Complex as fans are encouraged to wear green in support of continuing the conversation about mental health awareness.
After the Red and White return from a road trip, fans will be welcomed back to the complex with a free red towel giveaway on March 21 as the squad welcomes Marshall to town. A full day of promotions, the day will also be part of Youth League Day (free tickets for Little League players; $1 tickets for friends and family), Girl Scout Weekend (free tickets for Girl Scouts; $3 tickets for friends and family), Military Appreciation Weekend (All former and current service members will receive two free tickets to the series) and Big Brother/Big Sister Day (Each Big and Little will receive free admission; $3 tickets for friends and family).
In-state foe Kentucky visits The Hill on Mach 25 and the first 100 fans can pick up a free red t-shirt.
The following weekend, WKU will hold its annual Pink Out game on Saturday, March 28. The day will feature free admission for Strike Out Cancer Day and the first 100 fans will receive a free pink towel.
For WKU's final midweek tilt, the Tops will welcome Eastern Kentucky to town on April 8. The first 100 fans in the stadium can pick up a WKU foam finger. Additionally, the game will serve as the team's Faculty & Staff Night where all faculty and staff members can receive two complimentary tickets by showing a WKU ID.
WKU Softball will host its Senior Weekend across April 24-26 when Louisiana Tech visits Bowling Green. Several promotions will be in full swing as all Hilltopper Athletic Foundation members can receive two complimentary tickets for both days. Additionally, all Big Red's Rascals will receive free admission all weekend along with a complimentary ticket for a friend or family member. Finally, WKU's annual Bark in the Park promotion will span the weekend, allowing fans to bring their leashed dogs to the field. Any fan to bring an item on the Bowling Green Humane Society's list (link) will receive free admission. The first 100 fans can pick up a WKU dog toy for their furry friend. Bark in the Park is the only time dogs will be allowed in the WKU Softball Complex.
