BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Lady Topper Tennis is set to play third-seeded Florida Atlantic on Thursday at noon in the opening round of the 2019 Air Force Reserve Conference USA Women's Tennis Championship in Houston, Texas.

WKU has won its first-round matchup in each of the last two seasons. In 2017, the squad advanced to the championship semifinals, the furthest any Lady Topper team had ever gone in a conference tournament.

Florida Atlantic (8-7) is entering the championships on a three-game win streak after defeating LIU Brooklyn, Pitt and Princeton. The Owls leading singles player, Martina Kudalova, is currently ranked No. 87 in the ITA rankings.

The last time WKU and Florida Atlantic met was in the first round of 2017 C-USA Championships where the Lady Toppers defeated the Owls 4-2. The all-time series between the programs is tied 2-2.

Fourteenth-seeded WKU (3-16, 0-4 C-USA) has played four conference opponents in the regular season this year including North Texas, UAB, Charlotte and Middle Tennessee. The Lady Toppers have earned victories over Tennessee State, UAPB and Dayton.
