BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Tennis has reached the end of the regular season as it closes out Conference USA play at Middle Tennessee on Friday at the Adams Tennis Complex.
There is a storied history between the Blue Raiders and Lady Toppers. Middle Tennessee (9-11, 1-3 C-USA) leads the all-time series 25-12. The Blue Raiders won every match between the two programs from 1990 until 2017 when the WKU squad broke the streak, sweeping MTSU 5-0.
In 2019, Middle Tennessee strung together three consecutive wins beginning in the final days of March, defeating ETSU, UAB and Cincinnati. In their last match on April 6, the Blue Raiders narrowly fell to Xavier 4-3.
WKU (3-15, 0-3 C-USA) played in Murfreesboro, Tenn., on March 24 earlier this season in a neutral site match against Charlotte. The Lady Tops' last win came on March 10 against Dayton with a 5-2 victory over the Flyers.
Friday's match will be the last regular season match for the Red and White before heading to Houston for the 2019 Air Force Reserve Conference USA Women's Tennis Championship hosted by Rice.
