BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The WKU women's basketball team travels to Moraga, California to play in the St. Mary's Thanksgiving Classic on Friday and Saturday. The Lady Toppers will take on Tulsa on Friday at 2 p.m. (CT).

WKU has started the season with a 4-1 record for the first time since the 2013-14 season, winning the last four games. The Lady Toppers four wins have come by an average margin of 24.5 points.

Tulsa is 3-2 on the season with wins against Arkansas State, Oral Roberts and Loyola Marymount and are on a two-game winning streak heading into Friday's tilt. Tulsa head coach Matilda Mossman is a 1979 WKU graduate.

WKU will be facing off against a pair of first-time opponents in the tournament, having never played Tulsa or St. Mary's in the program's history.

The Lady Toppers have held their last three opponents to an average of 54.0 points per game, holding all three teams to below 60 points. WKU is 37-0 in the last four seasons when holding teams below 60.

WKU is on a hot streak from the 3-point line, shooting 41.3 percent from beyond the arc which is the 14th best percentage in the nation. Sherry Porter has been the Lady Toppers' top shooter, connecting on 54.5 percent of her shots and has made 6-of-7 from 3-point range in the last two games. Porter's percentage ranks as the 19th best in the country.

Whitney Creech is leading the Lady Toppers in scoring, averaging 15.4 points per game. The senior has scored in double figures in every game this season. Dee Givens is averaging 15.0 points including a pair of 20-plus point showings. Raneem Elgedawy (13.8) and Porter (11.6) round out the players averaging double-digit points.

Tulsa has a pair of players averaging double-digit points. Kendrian Elliot is putting up 18.6 points per game and Alexis Gaulden is averaging 11.0.
