BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The WKU women's basketball team will continue its homestand with a Sunday matchup against Central Michigan on Sunday. Game time is set for 2 p.m.

The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ with Jeff Younglove (play-by-play) and John Butler (color) on the call. Fans can also tune in to the radio broadcast by Brett Williams (play-by-play) on 102.7FM or 1450AM.

WKU (2-1, 0-0 C-USA) will be looking to win its third-straight game after victories against Mercer and (RV) Belmont. The Lady Toppers are 2-1 to start the season for the first time since the 2016-17 season.

Central Michigan (0-2, 0-0 MAC) fell against No. 9 Louisville on Thursday, 76-63. The Chippewas opened the season with a high-scoring loss to Green Bay, 111-105.

Last season, WKU and Central Michigan met for the first time in series history and the Chippewas came away with a 108-90 win.

Defense has been a priority for the Lady Toppers this season, holding opponents to 61.0 points per game through three games. WKU is also forcing 20 turnovers per game and 10.7 steals per game. Dee Givens has 11 steals so far this season, leading Conference USA in the category and ranking 20th in the nation.

On Wednesday, WKU dominated in a 77-46 win against a Belmont team that received a vote in the most recent AP Poll. Givens led all scorers in the game with 24 points. Whitney Creech (15), Sherry Porter (12) and Raneem Elgedawy (11) joined Givens in double figures.

Sunday's game continues a tough non-conference schedule WKU put together. The Lady Toppers' first five opponents were all 2019 NCAA Tournament participants and four of the five were picked to win their respective conferences (Louisville, Mercer, Belmont and Little Rock). The first five teams combined for a 129-38 record last season.
