BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — After playing the first two games of the season on the road, the WKU women's basketball team will host (RV) Belmont on Wednesday night for the 2019 home opener. Tip-off is set for 6 p.m. inside E.A. Diddle Arena.

For those who can't make it out to Diddle on Wednesday, the game will be broadcast on ESPN3 with Jeff Younglove (play-by-play) and John Butler (color). Fans can also tune in to the radio broadcast by Brett Williams (play-by-play) on 102.7FM or 1450AM.

WKU (1-1, 0-0 C-USA) is coming off of a hard-fought 75-62 win at Mercer last Friday. The Lady Toppers handed the Bears only their 10th home loss in the last five seasons. Raneem Elgedawy led WKU with her 12th career double-double with 18 points and 19 rebounds. Three other Lady Toppers joined Elgedawy in double figures. Whitney Creech had 17, Meral Abdelgawad had 15 and Dee Givens added 10.

Belmont (2-0, 0-0 MVC) has started out the season on a hot streak, defeating Chattanooga to open the season and then dominating UCF, 72-37, on Saturday. The Bruins earned a vote in the AP Poll this week with their perfect start to the season. Ellie Harmeyer is averaging 18.0 points per game and 16.0 rebounds per game through the first two games for the Bruins. Conley Chinn (11.5), Maddie Wright (11.0) and Maura Muensterman (10.0) are all also averaging double figure points.

WKU and Belmont have met 11 times in series history, but not since December 29, 2015 when the Lady Toppers posted an 80-65 win in Diddle Arena. WKU has won the last eight-straight meetings between the two teams and owns a 4-2 record in Bowling Green against the Bruins.

The Lady Toppers are 38-8 in home openers since the 1973-74 season, winning five of the last seasons. Those five wins came against Northern Kentucky (2012), Austin Peay (2013), Central Arkansas (2014), Louisville (2015) and Alabama A&M (2016). Overall, WKU is 84-18 at home since the 2012-13 season.

WKU will stay at home for the next two games with Central Michigan and Little Rock coming to town. The Lady Toppers will take on Central Michigan on Sunday, November 17 and will face Little Rock on Sunday, November 24. Both games are set for 2 p.m. tip-offs.
