HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — WKU Hilltopper Basketball finishes a three-game road swing to start Conference USA play at Marshall at 6 p.m. CT Saturday in Huntington, W.Va. The game will air on CBS Sports Network on Facebook Watch.

WKU split its first two C-USA road games, most recently falling 69-66 at Old Dominion on Saturday.

Marshall beat Charlotte and ODU to start league play 2-0. WKU leads the all-time series 15-11 over the Herd, although Marshall won the last meeting - a 67-66 victory in the 2018 C-USA Tournament Championship. WKU head coach Rick Stansbury is 2-3 in his career against Marshall.

• This season will be the first time that WKU has opened conference play with three straight road games since 2002-03, when it began Sun Belt action at Middle Tennessee, Little Rock and Arkansas State.
• After the Marshall game, WKU will have played 11 of 16 games away from home this season, its most over a 16-game span to start a season since 2002-03, when it also started with 11 of 16 away from home.
• WKU finished non-conference play with the 19th-best strength of schedule in the nation, according to the Sagarin Ratings, and the 33rd-best non-conference slate per Ken Pomeroy.
• WKU is one of the youngest teams in the country, ranking 335th of 353 in experience, per Ken Pomeroy.
• The Hilltoppers have made a 3-pointer in 991 straight games dating back to March 15, 1987. WKU entered the season tied with Arkansas for the fourth-longest streak in the nation of consecutive games with a made 3. Only UNLV (1,039), Vanderbilt (1,031) and Duke (1,021) had longer streaks to start the year.
• The Hilltoppers have shot 87 more free throws than their opponents this year and made as many free throws (236) as their opponents have even attempted, a calling card of the program.
• The Hilltoppers are 44-1 under head coach Rick Stansbury when leading with five minutes to play.
• WKU ranks 13th in the country in total blocks and 15th in the country in blocked shots per game, and 17th in percentage of opponents' shots blocked, according to Ken Pomeroy. Its average of 5.5 blocks per game would be its highest on record. Charles Bassey leads C-USA in blocks per game (2.5).
• WKU freshman center Charles Bassey has more blocks himself (38) this year than 73 Division I teams.
• As of Thursday, Charles Bassey was tied for third in the nation among freshmen in total blocks (38) and fifth nationally for rebounds per game (9.0). He ranks second in C-USA in total rebounds per game (9.0).
• As of Thursday, Charles Bassey ranked in the top 50 nationally in double-doubles (32nd), field-goal percentage (14th), blocks per game (13th), total blocks (14th), total rebounds (45th) and rebounds per game (43rd).

WKU made a furious rally in the final four minutes of the 2018 Conference USA Championship final, but ultimately came up just short in a 67-66 loss to Marshall. No. 3 seed WKU used an 11-0 run in the final 3:40 to trim their deficit to one, but missed multiple shots to take the lead. Justin Johnson had 21 points and 12 rebounds.
