Â
LOOKING AT THE FIELD:
Â
First up for the Lady Toppers in the Holiday Inn-University Plaza Invitational is Chattanooga. The Mocs are 4-3 on the young season and returned 13-of-16 letterwinners from last year's squad. Over the weekend, UTC went 3-0 in their home tournament but fell to Tennessee Tech on Tuesday in its most recent outing. WKU leads the all-time series 3-2 with victories in each of the last three outings, including the most recent meeting in 2005.
Â
Notre Dame will head to The Hill with a 4-1 record on the year, following a loss in its most recent outing at No. 19 Purdue. The only meeting between the sides in program history was in the First Round of last season's NCAA Tournament – a match the Lady Toppers claimed with a 3-0 sweep from Lexington, Ky. Notre Dame returns two starters and its libero from a year ago along with seven letterwinners from the 22-10 squad.
Â
WKU's final tilt of the weekend will be another rematch from the 2017 campaign as Miami (OH) visits Diddle Arena seeking revenge from last season's 3-1 setback to the Lady Toppers. The RedHawks enter the weekend with a 5-2 record on the 2018 season with losses to UC Santa Barbara and Dayton. Miami (OH) returns 9-of-17 letterwinners from a year ago and three starters. The all-time record between WKU and Miami (OH) is tied at 4-4.
