BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Lady Topper Tennis will face No. 41 FIU tomorrow in a neutral site match hosted by Lipscomb in Nashville, Tenn. WKU's final regular season Conference USA match is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
No. 41 FIU (11-2, 4-0 C-USA) strung together a streak of nine wins earlier this season, snapped by a loss to UCF just last week. In Conference USA play, the Panthers have defeated North Texas, Marshall, UTEP and, most recently, Middle Tennessee. A few Panthers hold national ranking in the ITA/Oracle Collegiate Tennis Rankings including No. 5 singles player Andrea Lazaro and No. 21 doubles pair Ulyana Grib and Maryna Veksler.
This is WKU's second ranked opponent in just nine days, having lost to No. 38 Tennessee on March 31. WKU (8-5, 2-1 C-USA) is led by Lady Topper freshman Moka Ito who is 10-1 in singles this spring. Ito and her doubles partner sophomore Monica Malinen have also notched only one loss this season, holding a record of 8-1. The Lady Toppers are 2-1 in neutral site matches this year.
The Panthers lead the Lady Toppers in the all-time series between the programs 2-0.
