STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. — WKU Lady Topper Golf improved by 17 strokes in Monday's second round of Georgia State's John Kirk Panther Intercollegiate, moving up to seventh with one round to go.
The Lady Toppers shot a 300 team total in the second round at the par-72, 6,043-yard Eagle's Landing Country Club, giving them a two-day total of 617. Although they're in seventh place, they're just two strokes back of fourth.
Jacksonville leads the field at 594.
Every WKU golfer in team competition improved her score Monday, led by senior Georgina Blackman's even-par 72. She's tied for sixth individually with a 149 (77-72) tally.
Sophomore Mary Joiner (81-74) and senior Katie Story (78-77) are both tied for 22nd at 155. Freshman Megan Clarke is tied for 51st at 161 (81-80), while sophomore Bailey Tyree carded a two-round total of 166 (89-77). Sophomore Abigail Smee is at 169 (84-85) playing as an individual.
Blackman is just five shots back of the individual leader, South Alabama's Siti Shaari.
The final round is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. CT Tuesday with a shotgun start.
