BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU heads to Johnson City, Tenn., this weekend to play Miami (OH) in a neutral site match on Saturday followed by a match at ETSU on Sunday morning. Play on Saturday will begin at 1:30 p.m. CT and at 8:30 a.m. CT on Sunday.
Miami (OH)'s RedHawks have met WKU's Lady Toppers only once in program history. Miami (OH) defeated WKU 8-1 on April 1, 1983 so the Red and White will be looking for its first ever win against the RedHawks. Miami (OH) is currently 4-5 on the season, coming off two wins over Marshall and Murray State last week. The Redhawks made it to the MAC Championship last season before falling to Buffalo.
ETSU enters the weekend with a record of 3-4 and a win over Big 12 opponent West Virginia last week. The Buccaneers finished last season 14-6, coming up short in the SoCon Championship match against Furman. ETSU holds a 1-0 all-time edge over WKU after meeting for the first time last season in Bowling Green. The Lady Toppers fell to the Bucs 4-1.
WKU holds a 3-2 mark so far this season with wins over UTEP, Lipscomb and Ball State. Freshman Moka Ito has led the Lady Toppers in her inaugural spring season as she is an undefeated 4-0 in dual match play.
