WKU Match Notes
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – WKU Volleyball is set for its first full weekend of Conference USA action on the road as the squad heads to Marshall and Middle Tennessee on Friday and Sunday, respectively. The Lady Toppers (12-6; 3-1 C-USA) will look to get back on track following Sunday's loss with a 10 a.m. CT, Education Day tilt in Huntington, W.Va., before closing out the weekend in Murfreesboro, Tenn. Sunday afternoon.

LOOKING AT THE THUNDERING HERD:
Marshall enters the weekend with an 8-10 reading on the season which includes a 1-3 mark in league matches. Most recently, the Thundering Herd traveled to Louisiana Tech and swept the Lady Techsters.

WKU and Marshall has faced several common opponents on the campaign. On the non-conference slate, both sides dropped decisions to Alabama. The Lady Toppers claimed a five-set victory over Northern Illinois while Marshall was swept by the NIU unit. In league action, Charlotte handed Marshall a five-set loss while WKU defeated the 49ers by the same reading.

The Thundering Herd returns five of its 14 letterwinners from its 11-19 campaign a year ago. In the all-time series, WKU leads Marshall 11-2 and its 7-0 against the Herd since joining Conference USA.

Marshall will also be hosting the Conference USA Tournament this coming November.

BACK TO THE BLUE RAIDERS:
Sunday's opponent is a familiar one for Travis Hudson and company as the Lady Toppers and Blue Raiders met less than three weeks prior. The first meeting of the season saw WKU hand Middle Tennessee a 3-0 loss as Hudson earned his 600th career victory inside E.A. Diddle Arena.

MTSU enters the weekend off a five-set non-conference victory over Tennessee State on Tuesday night and is now 5-11 on the season. The Blue Raiders will host Rice Friday night before the Red and White head to town on Sunday. Middle Tennessee enters the weekend still in search of its first conference victory of the season (0-3).

With its Sept. 21 victory over MTSU, WKU now leads the all-time series 46-16. The Lady Topper program has swept Middle Tennessee in 6-of-7 meetings as C-USA members.

NEXT UP:
Following Sunday's showdown with Rice, WKU Volleyball will hit the road for a pair of contests. First up, the Lady Toppers will visit Huntington, W.Va., to take on the Thundering Herd in a 10 a.m. CT, tilt on Friday, Oct. 5. The road swing will wrap up down in Murfreesboro, Tenn., on Sunday with a second go-around with the Blue Raiders.
