HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Ark. — WKU Lady Topper Golf sophomore Megan Clarke shot a season-low 72 on Sunday to open play at the Little Rock Golf Classic, tying her for fourth with two rounds to play.
Clarke tallied four birdies – tied for the second-most in the field – with two double bogeys to register her even-par 72 at the 6,076-yard Diamante Country Club. She's just two strokes behind UTEP's Lily Downs for the individual lead.
The Heckmondwike, England, native also leads the field in par-5 scoring at 4 under.
The Lady Toppers rank 10th out of 17 teams through one round with a 308 total.
WKU junior Mary Joiner and freshman Lizzie Loy are both tied for 41st following a pair of 78s on Sunday. Juniors Abigail Smee and Bailey Tyree shot an 80 and 81, respectively.
Monday's second round is slated to begin at 9 a.m. CT, with the final round to follow Tuesday.
