RESULTS
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – WKU Cross Country saw Savannah Ames and Endalow Takele lead their respective squads on Saturday morning at the Greater Louisville Classic. Ames finished fifth in the women's silver 5K race while Takele took fourth place in the men's blue 8K race at the E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville.

"We made some positive strides as a team this weekend," head coach Erik Jenkins shared. "Both of our teams made adjustments from two weeks ago and the improvements followed for us."

Ames finished fifth among Division I runners in the women's silver race with a 19:21.52 reading. Brianna Wolken finished 10th with a 20:40.67 mark while Morgan Kannapel and Rylie Mercer crossed in 14th and 15th with times of 21:25.61 and 21:37.65, respectively. Rebecca Cook rounded out the Lady Toppers' showing with a 23:16.50 to take 20th.

In their division in the silver race, the Lady Toppers took second as a team with an average time of 21:16.39.

In the men's 8K race, Takele clocked a 25:23.98 time for a fourth place finish in the men's blue Division I race. Julien Cuyeu crossed with a time of 25:50.13 good for a 12th place finish while Taylor Scarbrough finished 27th with a time of 26:29.74. Alexander Schell and Kyle Sprague ran times of 27:14.37 and 27:24.58 to finish in 47th and 50th, respectively. Barrett Eddings rounded out the Hilltopper squad with a 27:35.85 to take 55th.

The WKU men's squad finished sixth as a team among DI teams in its race with an average time of 26:28.56.
