Hilltoppers Headed Back to Louisville for NCAA Pre-Nationals

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – To conclude the 2017 cross country regular season, WKU is set to travel back to Louisville on Saturday for the 2017 NCAA Division I Cross Country Pre-Nationals Invitational. Action from the E.P. 'Tom' Sawyer State Park course will commence for the Hilltoppers at 10:30 a.m. CT, with the men's 8K race before the women take over in the 6K at 11:15 a.m. CT.

Saturday's Pre-Nationals meet serves as a pre-cursor for the national championships, and this year's meet features numerous powerhouses that finished among the elite at the 2016 national championships. The NCAA Division I Cross Country Championships will be held on a Saturday, also taking place at E.P. 'Tom' Sawyer State Park on Nov. 18.

Fans can catch the Pre-National Invitational action streaming live on FloTrack.org. Over 1,300 student-athletes are expected to compete representing 63 men's teams and 70 women's squads.

Expected to compete for the Lady Toppers this weekend are Savannah Ames, Brianna Wolken, Aairiona Hayden-Ransom, Morgan Kannapel and Rylie Mercer. On the men's side, Endalow Takele, Julien Cuyeu, Barrett Eddings, Taylor Scarbrough and Alexander Schell are making the trip.
