MATCH INFORMATION
Thursday, Nov. 9 – WKU at North Texas – 6 p.m. CT | Stats | CUSA.tv
Â
Thursday evening's match will double as the North Texas Senior Night celebration despite the Mean Green's tilt on Saturday with Middle Tennessee from the North Texas Volleyball Center. Action from Denton can be streamed live on CUSA.tv with the first serve going up at 6 p.m. CT.
Â
North Texas owns just one loss in league play this season, which was suffered the opening weekend of conference action at Southern Miss in five sets. The Mean Green need wins over both WKU and Middle Tennessee in the final week of the regular season to secure a share of the 2017 C-USA regular season title.
Â
The Mean Green returned nine of last year's 15 letterwinners, including four starters. In 2016, North Texas posted a deceiving 13-19 record as a junior-heavy squad. WKU was the lone team in C-USA play to sweep North Texas last season.
Â
WKU owns a 19-1 advantage in the all-time series with North Texas including a 7-1 mark in matches taking place in Denton. Since joining Conference USA, WKU has won all five meetings with the Mean Green to extend its current streak to 10-straight victories. The last time WKU and North Texas met in Denton, the match went the distance with WKU claiming the five-set win in 2015.
Â
A win in Thursday night's regular season finale would secure WKU Volleyball its second-straight perfect showing in C-USA play – a first in the league's history. With at least a share of the regular-season title already locked up, the Lady Toppers are the first C-USA squad to ever four-peat as regular season champions. The match's outcome will also help determine the seeding for the upcoming Conference USA Volleyball Championship set to take place in Bowling Green Nov. 17-19.
