Steelwood Collegiate Invitational Final Results (PDF)
LOXLEY, Ala. — Freshman Tom Bevington paced the Hilltoppers on their final day of fall competition, as the WKU men's golf team finished ninth at South Alabama's Steelwood Collegiate Invitational.
Bevington shot a 2-under 70 in Sunday's final round at the par-72, 7,096-yard Steelwood Country Club. He finished tied for 31st with a 221 (78-73-70) total.
WKU continued its solid play after a rough opening round, finishing with an 888 team total (307-289-292).
Sophomore Stuart Easton led the Hilltoppers for the tournament with a 220 total (73-74-73), tying for 28th. Easton's 220 score was his best 54-hole effort of the season.
Redshirt sophomore Billy Tom Sargent tied for 38th with a 224 tally (83-68-73), while redshirt freshman Linus Lo was 49th at 230 (80-74-76). Redshirt senior Nick Thompson was 56th at 240 (76-85-79).
Kennesaw State won the team competition with an 837 total, while the program's Connor Coffee won the individual crown at 204.
The Hilltoppers completed their six-tournament fall campaign with five top-10 finishes and two top-three results. They also notched four top-five individual finishes, including two victories by Sargent.
WKU begins its spring season at the Magnolia Grove Intercollegiate on Feb. 20-21.
