BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -- WKU volleyball toughed out its tenth, straight-set victory on the year Sunday afternoon in E.A. Diddle Arena as the Lady Toppers remained perfect in Conference USA play with a sweep of FIU (25-11,26-24,25-15).
Sophomore Sydney Engle led the Lady Tops with nine kills on the contest off .304 hitting while outside hitter Alyssa Cavanaugh added eight and Rachel Anderson and Noelle Langenkamp each chipped in five as WKU finished with a .229 team hitting clip.
Setter Jessica Lucas recorded a match-high 32 assists to go with three digs and four kills.
Defensively, WKU limited FIU to .092 hitting while recorded ten total team blocks on the afternoon. Junior libero Georgia O'Connell recorded a match-high 12 digs while Anderson added a pair of solo stuffs for the Lady Tops.
The victory extends WKU's current winning streak to nine matches and marks the program's 14th straight win over a C-USA opponent.
WKU (15-2, 2-0 C-USA) takes a break from conference action as the Lady Tops are set to travel south to Nashville, Tennessee, for a match with Lipscomb Tuesday evening. First serve is set for 6:30 p.m. CT with the Bisons.
